Switching from Ava

Ava vanished without notice.
Your cycle data should not live or die with a company's uptime.

On 19 June 2026 Ava users reported that the app would not load and the website was gone, and that it was not the first time. In the Reddit thread that followed, people described waiting weeks and screenshotting whatever still loaded, and one filed a complaint with their state attorney general to get their cycle reports back. The poster was part-way through a third IUI cycle and wanted to keep tracking either way. The question in the thread was the obvious one: what do I use instead? An app that only works while a remote service is up can leave you unable to read your own history.

How Ava and GetPregnant compare on the things TTC users say they track for
What you track forAvaGetPregnant
AvailabilityUsers reported the app and website went dark without warning in June 2026, with outages before that. While the service is down, so is access to your data.Cycle tracking works offline, on your phone. There is no server that can be taken down between you and your history.
Access to your historyUsers reported being unable to sign in, and cycle reports only covering the last 12 months.Everything you log stays on your device for as long as you keep the app. No sign-in, so nothing can be locked out.
Bringing data to a doctorDepends on getting reports out of the app while it works. One tap exports a CSV of every period start and daily check-in — yours to print, email or hand over.
What you depend onAva's core product is its bracelet: overnight sensing. That is hardware plus an app, so it depends on the company's service staying up.GetPregnant estimates your fertile window, ovulation day and next period from the dates and check-ins you log. No wearable, no subscription required to read your own records.

We did not test Ava to write this page. What we say about it comes from the linked user reports, its own published pages and public enforcement records, as of September 2026. Ava may have changed since; check the sources.

Moving over, in practice

  1. While Ava still loads sometimes, grab what you can: request your cycle reports and screenshot any chart you care about.
  2. Enter your recent period start dates in GetPregnant. Two cycles in, you have a working estimate of your fertile window.
  3. Keep Ava's reports as a historical file. If Ava comes back, fine — but your day-to-day tracking no longer depends on it.
