Switching from Premom

Premom users report their past cycles went behind a paywall.
Your own history should not be a premium feature.

In mid-September 2026, Premom users on Reddit reported the same thing: they opened the chart, scrolled back a cycle, and could no longer see it without a paid plan. Several said it arrived with an app update and without warning. If you have been logging basal temperature, LH strips and periods for months, losing the view of your own history is more than an annoyance. It is the reason many people track in the first place: bringing cycle data to a doctor and noticing irregularities over time.

Scrolling back through previous cyclesUsers reported in September 2026 that previous cycles now need a paid plan.Your full cycle history stays visible in the free app. No paywall was added and none is planned for logging or history.
Logging BBT and ovulation testsLogging continues in the free app; users reported it is the history view that moved to the paid plan.Log basal temperature (°C or °F), LH test results and cervical mucus in the free daily check-in, next to periods and symptoms.
Getting your data out againUsers reported they could still export their data from the profile's privacy settings; others took screenshots.Settings → Export your data gives you a CSV of every period start and check-in, from your phone, any time. It is a free feature.
Who holds the dataPremom's privacy policy says you register an account, and lists cycle dates, test results and BBT among what it collects.Entries are stored on your phone. No account, no cloud copy, nothing to pay to unlock or to lose.
Ads and data sharingThe US FTC's 2023 order bars Premom from sharing users' health data for advertising. No ads and no advertising SDKs. The app does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

We did not test Premom to write this page. What we say about it comes from the linked user reports, its own published pages and public enforcement records, as of September 2026. Premom may have changed since; check the sources.

Moving over, in practice

  1. Before you leave, take your data with you. Users reported exporting it in Premom from Profile → Privacy settings → Export my data, or by a data request under GDPR or US state privacy law. Keep the file.
  2. Install GetPregnant and enter your most recent period start dates — the ones you would actually compare. Cycle estimates build from your own history within a couple of cycles.
  3. Keep the Premom CSV somewhere safe (Notes, Drive, email to yourself). It is your record for appointments; GetPregnant exports its own CSV from day one, so this is the last migration you will need to do by hand.
